Nice one rljaplit.  Which of these do you think are the best for the epc?  Give me at least your top five.

Nice one rljaplit.  Which of these do you think are the best for the epc?  Give me at least your top five.

Here are the ones I've used:
1. Reformat sdhc to ntfs (did so coz I mounted my sdhc as a folder in drive c....instead of doing the hitachi micro-driver thing).
2. Disabled ntfs time-stamp
3. Disabled Indexing Service
4. Disabled XP Boot Logo
5. Disabled auto update of XP
6. Adjusted LargeSystemCache
7. Increased speed by tweaking prefetcher settings
8. Shutdown XP faster
9. Speed up menu appearance
10. In msconfig -- I disabled at start up the following: ALCMTR (don't know what this is, but eeepc forum said ok to not run this), RTHDCPL (Realtek High Def Audio Control Panel, also according to eeeusers, waste of space and memory), and Skytel (since it used to give me frickin errors that were just annoying....besides, been running well with it turned off....also got this from eeeusers)
11. Temp and Tmp files to ramdisk -- user variables Temp and Tmp I pointed to sdhc; and Temp and Tmp in System Variables I pointed to ramdisk.

note: and the tips of Mark_eee on the Firefox speed-up-tweaks were great too!

These are the top 11 I tweaked in my eeepc given the link above Smiley My eee has been super-fast so far and trouble free!

about the ntfs formatting: just make sure you make backups since it lessens the life of the card.

great tips, man! blazing fast eee pcs for everyone!

Thanks, Shin! And thanks also for the heads up on card life due to ntfs-ing it. I have an extra 4gb sdhc...in case the 8gb gives out (knock-on-wood).
