Well, nde naman totally nagawa, I was able to trim down the winsxs at nde pa naman naha-hang/blue screen yung vista. Btw guys, if you're into Vista hacking, ang ginagawa ko e sa emulated environment muna ako (e.g. VMware, VirtualPC, or VirtualBox) pag ok na yung testing ko, saka na ako nagta-try sa 3e. This way mas less ang hassle ng testing sa unit.  Grin

Will try some more "hacking". Pag nde pa ako nasiyahan e xfer na to other media device ang winsxs. that way, maliit na winsxs e nasa non-SSD pa.

@Shinrai:tnx, will visit the site later.

Tyrone -- ok talaga vista no? I'm using it na lang sa Compaq ko -- vista home premium. Ganda pare....liwanag ng interface -- crisp and clear Smiley  And it runs pretty fast too.

You got that right Roop!

When it comes to OSes, am not one to jump on the bandwagon early or eagerly... But with Vista, it was a different story altogether.

What I love most about Vista is that the more you use it, the faster it gets. It adjusts to the way you use it.

Oo nga....I like the way this baby runs Smiley

My take on it....parang same speed system ko with vista and with XP, but vista is so much nicer with the eye-candy than xp. And I'm only using a celeron M machine with a 1.86gg processor (with 2gb ram).

@YUVU17:
Based on my observation/experience, on machines with 1GB RAM, XP runs significantly faster than Vista (boot time, launching applications, switching applications, etc) even after so many days of using Vista. However, on machines with 2GB the speed gap was dramatically decreased if not eliminated. I usually run Office Apps, Image processing tools, etc. For some games, I still prefer running them through XP. Then again, I'm not a professional tester so my benchmarks are my own.

Btw, sent you a PM about your bluetooth mouse. Smiley

I was able to install Vista Ultimate SP1 on my EEE900. I vlited my cd and after installation, it reports I still have 1.61gb on my drive c. The only drivers I installed were for the LAN and WLAN plus the ACPI. Everything was recognized by Vista. Upon rebooting, everything was perfect except an error message by ACPI service saying VGA driver and AUDIO drivers weren't installed, but it's only a message. Right now, I'm currently downloading all the updates including the LAN and WLAN drivers update. BTW, I have 2gb RAM installed so it's pretty fast. Booting time is only around 45 seconds from the gray eeepc screen up to the showing of sidebar.

I'll test on it and see how fast it will be compared to xp. I know xp is fast but if Vista is not that slow, I'd choose Vista.

So far no luck on the ACPI problem. I can install the ACPI driver, all function button works initially but after reboot, I still get the Audio and Video driver not installed, and Fn+5 (Video) and Fn+7,8,9 (Audio controls) don't work anymore. I tried reverting to Original BIOS (0301) since shinrai said he was able to do it, but still no luck (I had BIOS 0601). He also used a vlited Vista. I'll try to tinker again with my settings in vlite and see if I could eliminate the problem. Pag na-solve ko na yun, happy na ko hehehe. As for the Touchpad sensitivity, Asus updated their Elantech Drivers which solved the double tap sensitivity problem in xp. I have yet to try that on vista though.

I might also try vliting again but this time leave the drivers and hardware support alone. My primary goal at first was to strip down the vista footprint to save space on the 4g ssd. I will also try installing full vista on the 16g ssd just to make sure it's not a vlite problem.

Guys, i didn't bother transferring my winsxs (for the time being), i just trimmed it down na lang. Just look sa google yung program n WhereIsIt. I used it to search for duplicates sa winsxs then delete them. so faw ala pang naging problem or nde pa naman blue screen.

Yung s driver, kindly look sa previous post ko for the site of the driver.  Wink
